    Vintage Porcelain Figurine "Chow-Chow" LFZ USSR
    Wonderful animalistic sculpture "Chow-Chow", The product comes from the USSR - now the Imperial Porcelain Factory, and during the USSR - the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory - LFZ, Leningrad - 1964. The author of the form: Veselov P.P., Material: porcelain, underglaze and overglaze paint. Height - 8.5 cm, length - 15 cm.
    The author and manufacturer of the figurine, Pavel Pavlovich Veselov, was a sculptor and porcelainist. He studied at the Leningrad Higher School of Industrial Art (1945-1952) at the Faculty of Monumental and Decorative Sculpture. The diploma work was a model of the three-figure composition "Deer". It was created by him for the Leningrad Zoo. Even then, the artist's outstanding talent and originality was revealed, because in 1952 of the last century, no one did such complex and serious thesis. At the beginning of his career, Pavel Pavlovich worked in the field of decorative and monumental sculpture. Made a number of park compositions and fountains: Algorithm "Autumn", 5 meters; "Education", 1.4 meters (concrete 1953-54, Sochi, Marine Station), Soldier (cement 1955, Museum of the History of Leningrad). And since 1956 he began to engage in ceramics, worked mainly in small-scale sculpture. I chose animalism as the main theme. He took part in domestic and international exhibitions (these works are kept in the State Russian Museum, the State Museum of Ceramics "Kuskovo", etc.) At the International Exhibition of Ceramics in Ostend (Belgium), in 1959, his work is a group of three stylized "Giraffes ", received a silver medal, losing gold to Pablo Picasso. In 1962, at the International Exhibition of Ceramics in Prague, for the sculpture "Cheetah" by P.P., Veselov received a silver medal. Since 1960, the sculptor began his collaboration with the Leningrad Porcelain Factory.
