Vintage Penn Senator 114 6/0 Conventional Big Game Fishing Reel

Description

This is a vintage Penn 6/0 114 Senator, the older model with the fatter drag washers and the collar with felt ring in the drag set.  This reel's drag washers can be accessed through a cutout in the face plate.
Strengths:  Really handy to get to the drag set from the side of the reel.  Missing no parts, spins fairly smooth and runs good.  It's clean and was lubed up on 8/8/2022, and it has an almost full spool of monofilament line, perhaps 50 lb test that looks usable.  The anti-reverse works great and gives off a nice click.  Spool release is fairly smooth.  Internal parts are clean and in good usable condition:  the gears especially are in excellent shape and the brass spool release parts work well.
Weaknesses:  Corrosion on most chrome parts, especially on support posts.  Side rings, handle and star drag lever are better, but also have some spots of compromised chrome.  The thinner red fiber washer that sits behind the main gear opposite the drag stack is still functioning, but it is cracked and should be replaced.  The chrome ring on the outer side of the face plate has a hairline crack at one of the screw holes.  The strike indicator clicker works ok, but the click tongue is rusted.
A great reel for someone who wants a clean one to go fishing right away, especially if you happen to have a spare red fiber washer that would put this reel in great shape.
