Very Rare stamped Montague Long Beach fishing reel w/ fish in talons logo VG NR

This auction is for a very rare stamped Montague fishing reel. MONTAGUE LONG BEACH is stamped into the base of the reel foot along with their fish in talon logo. See photo. A very nice early saltwater reel with hard rubber sides (previous owners initially professionally etched in side plate) and leather brake as seen on their Tuna and Tarpon models. Reel needs to be cleaned but from small areas polished out this looks to be made of solid german silver and not plated. Reel weighs approximately 1 1/4 lbs (on postal scale). 3 1/4" diameter reel is 2.60" wide. Reel works well with free spool and switch to disengage handle, etc. Similar design to Vom Hofe, Penn or Pennel reels. Reel could use a cleaning but basically sold as found (cleaned two small areas as shown in pic's to confirm Nickel Silver). See pictures for full description. Sold as shown.
