    Description

    Shirley Mitchell (1919-2013).
    She was an American radio, television and film actress. Her most prominent radio role was that of the charismatic Southern belle Leila Ransom on "The Great Guildersleeve" radio show beginning in 1942.  In the third season of CBS's "I Love Lucy". from 1953-54, she appeared in three episodes ad Lucy Ricardo's friend with the funny laugh, Marion Strong .  She was the last surviving recurring adult cast member of that show.  She appeared in numerous television shows including recurring roles in "Pete and Gladys", "Perry Mason" and "Please Don't Eat the Daisies".
