The advantages of this product
Quartz is a mineral composed of silicon dioxide with the formula SiO2 (silica).
It occurs either as large colorless, colored or smoky crystals, or as microscopic crystals with a translucent appearance.
The crystal structure is hexagonal at high temperature (quartz (Quartz beta ). space group P 6421 or P 6221), trigonal at low temperature (quartz α space group P 3121 or P 3221). The winding of the helices of SiO4 tetrahedra can be done in both directions, left or right, which explains the two space groups for each of the polymorphs.
Constituting 12% (by mass) of the lithosphere, quartz is the most common mineral (oxygen and silicon are respectively the first and second constituents, in order of importance, of the lithosphere); it is an important component of granite, with which it fills the residual spaces, and of granitic (gneiss, quartzite) and sedimentary (sand, sandstone) metamorphic rocks.
