    Description

    You are bidding on signature of LEOPOLD von MEYER (1816-1883), (3" x 4-1/2") piano student of Carl Czerny ( 1791-1857) and Joseph Fishhof (1804-1857), professor at Vienne Conservatory.
    I am unable to decipher writing under his signature.
    The 3rd line appears to be address-"Nice Village Calombo," and the 4th line "le 23 Avril 1863.
    (someone has written in pencil in bottom right corner, "Meyer, pianist-composer).
    "Leopold was a brilliant technician as a pianist and a typical representative of salon music as a composer."
