1890's-1920's 4 ORIGINAL IRON WHEELS 3 1/8 IN. 16 SPOKES FOR ANTIQUE IRON TOYS

Description

Four original 1890's-1920's cast iron wheels for antique iron toys. There is a matched pair of two wheels which measure 3 1/8 inches in diameter & each has 16 spokes. One wheel has a crack at the center section & an old welded repair which has filled the center hole. The wheel with the repair has lost its paint. The other wheel has considerable wear & a dark patina from age intermingled with some original red paint.
Also, there is a matched pair of wheels which also measure 3 1/8 inches in diameter & also have 16 spokes each. One of these wheels has three raised pegs on the interior of the spokes which would have served to cause some action during the movement of the toy. These two wheels have a few tiny old chips off of the raised part of the iron at the center where the axle would go through. The wheels have considerable wear & a dark patina from age intermingled with some of the original red paint.
All of the four wheels offered in this listing have the same diameter, have the same number of spokes, & are close in design.
The total weight of the four wheels plus the axle is 9.6 ounces. We have had these in our antique toy parts box since the 1970's & finally figured it was time to sell them.
